Range data

Chronograph Analyzer

Paste a velocity string to instantly see average, standard deviation, extreme spread, and power factor readiness.

Enter the measured velocity of each recorded shot in feet per second. Separate readings with commas, spaces, or line breaks.

Separate with commas, spaces, or line breaks. Non-numeric values are ignored.

Projectile weight in grains. It is optional, but required to calculate power factor and muzzle energy.

Adds power factor and muzzle energy insights.

The minimum power factor you want the average string to meet. Confirm the current floor with your match rules.

Optional threshold for USPSA/IDPA comparisons.

Shot count
Average velocityArithmetic mean of every valid shot velocity entered.
Standard deviationPopulation standard deviation of the string in fps. Lower values indicate velocities clustered more closely around the average.
Extreme spreadFastest shot minus slowest shot. It shows the full velocity range but can be strongly affected by one outlier.
Power factorBullet weight in grains multiplied by average velocity in fps, divided by 1,000. Match organizations may use their own official chronograph procedure.
Muzzle energyEstimated kinetic energy at the muzzle in foot-pounds, calculated from bullet weight and average velocity.
